“The 12 millimetre porcelain is one of the best performing and hardiest materials you can use in your kitchen, bathroom, living areas and external areas,” says Bec Cornale, who is Artedomus’ Western Australian State Manager, and works with 12mm and 20mm porcelain panels, as well as experienced porcelain fabricators, on a daily basis. “Performance wise it offers heat resistance, so placing hot pots directly onto your 12 millimetre porcelain benchtop is not going to cause thermal shock; you’ve got stain resistance as the porosity of porcelain slabs is zero; and there is no concern with scratching – it’s a great choice for high use areas,” says Bec.

Artedomus’ newest ranges of 12mm-thick porcelain panels, produced by Maximum and Artetech respectively, represent an advancement in colour and pattern quality that vastly widens our perspective on the aesthetic impact porcelain can have within a space.
