Natural Stone Travertine Lait
Lait can be seen used in many successful commercial floor and wall projects around Australia. Unlike other varieties of travertines, the density and lack of large cavities mean these particular Roman travertines are more durable and not subject to extreme deterioration.
It is typically available in honed, vein cut and unfilled 800×400×20mm tiles and is suitable for floors and walls for both internal and external use.
Quarried in the area of Tivoli Terme, Rome, this classic Roman travertine has been used in Italy as building material since the Middle Ages and can still be seen today. The quarries are situated in the plain surrounding the Acque Albule’s springs, optimal zone for the formation and extraction of precious, durable and unique travertine.
This wonderful natural stone was used by the Romans approximately 2,500 years ago and its use has lasted widely to the present day. This happened due to the enormous extracting basin of Tivoli Terme and thanks to indisputable travertine’s qualities such as the endurance, the warm and timeless colour, the uniformity and the adaptability to various architectural styles, from Romanic to Renaissance, from Baroque to Rationalist and Minimalist.
The magical city of Rome embodies all of these styles and Roman travertine; it enriches any monument, church, fountain, villa or private house.
